Song From You operates songfromyou.com, a platform that creates personalised songs as gifts. We are subject to the laws of the European Union, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What data we collect
- Account data: Your email address when you sign in via magic link.
- Song data: Names, relationship details, and story text you provide to generate a song. This data is used exclusively to create your song and is not sold or shared.
- Payment data: Stripe processes all payments. We never see or store your card details.
- Usage data: Page views and general analytics to improve the product. No personally identifiable tracking.
3. How we use your data
We use your data solely to:
- Generate and deliver your personalised song.
- Send transactional emails (song ready notifications, gift delivery).
- Process payments via Stripe.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your personal story data to train AI models.
4. Data sharing
We share data only with essential service providers required to operate the platform:
- Database & authentication provider: Secure storage of your account and song data (EU region).
- Payment processor: Handles all transactions. We never see or store your card details.
- Email delivery provider: Sends transactional emails only (song ready, gift delivery).
- Music production services: Your story details are passed to our audio production pipeline solely to create your song. They are not retained or reused.
No data is sold to third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.
5. Data retention
Your songs and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us. Gift pages remain accessible via their private link until you delete them.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to processing.
- Data portability.
